*chhhhhcchkkk* Hello hello? Is this Delphin Daily News?
We’re here on the ground in Kêtos City CBD and there have been reports of immense whale activities around the harbour. As the harbour continues to fill with these creatures, we beg the question of... why? Ever since we learnt that they’re listening to us their knowledge has just continued to grow and grow.
Mike Hwale out *chhhhhhchhk*
The first group sonar wave struck the city at 1500hrs on the 2nd of July 1972.
These were final words of Mr Hwale and many others before the sonar waves struck. Ringing out through the city, the first people to hear it were deafened as the windows around them began to vibrate and shake. With only a few more waves, cracks formed in the walls and buildings began to shake as well. The warning sirens wailed out around the city though no one could hear them. As the buildings began to crumble, the citizens of Kêtos city knew that their time had come.
Thanks to the digital reconstruction of some of the footage from that dreadful day nearly 50 years ago, this short montage of clips has been able to be put together to showcase the series of events that led up to, and happened during, the very first Sonar Strike.
Sonar was a fun animation I made in my final trimester at VUW in my animation class.
